Tell us, how would you describe yourself in a few sentences?

My name is Tracey Figlioli. I’m 42 years old and I’ve been doing makeup professionally since 2013. I’ve also been doing body painting now since 2015.

What inspired you to get into makeup artistry?

I worked as a cosmetologist for many years so already being in that type of industry on top of being someone who group up with an artistic background, makeup was always something I was drawn to. And then also just being into the whole punk rock thing growing up, I always experimented with doing my makeup in an extreme (and often times outlandish) manner. I was always drawn to the transformative nature of makeup; it wasn’t always about looking pretty, it was about creating a look. Then when I was living in Florida I was lucky enough to be recruited for working for MAC Cosmetics and that’s where I officially got my start and I’ve never looked back since.

What type of makeup is your favorite to do?

I honestly love doing any kind of makeup but my favorite thing to do is transforming completely with face/body paint. Mostly because Halloween is my favorite time of year and there’s really no limit to how creative you can get with it.

If you could do crazy makeup on one person (living or dead) who would it be?

Ooh, that’s a hard one. But probably I’d have to choose Wendy O. Williams because… it’s Wendy O. Williams.

What other types of art do you dabble in?

I like doing all kinds of art. I like to paint, sculpt. I like getting crafty and making stuff. I’m kind of all over the place.

What’s your favorite tattoo and why?

My favorite tattoo that I have is the big skull I have on my thigh because that particular part of my body never sees the light of day, so it still looks as vibrant as it did when I got it 20 years ago.

If you could get tattooed by anyone, who would it be and why?

Oh god. Filip Leu because I’ve been in love with his work forever.

Finish this sentence: If I could rule the world for a day I would…

If I could rule the world for a day I would… have to build a huge sanctuary and just rescue and rehab as many animals as possible.

What was your favorite makeup project to date?

My favorite was competing at Premiere Orlando. Me and two other teammates competed against 12 other teams for a chance to get into a network television competition show and although we didn’t end up getting picked I really loved the challenge it presented. It was the most pressure I’ve ever worked under but I loved it and would totally do it all over again.
